Interested in the processes involved in learning mindful body awareness, Cynthia studies qualitative aspects and underlying mechanisms of the MABT approach. She is a co-author of two scales to measure interoceptive awareness: the Scale of Body Connection (SBC) and the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA). Committed to increasing health care access to underserved populations, Cynthia works with local and international programs to provide and improve complementary and integrative health care through her research, teaching, and service.

Megan works as an interventionist on a randomized controlled trial of MABT for people in treatment for opioid use disorder at the University of Washington. She has a Master’s degree in Psychology through the Spirituality Mind Body Institute at Columbia University Teachers College.

Brian has a passion for the power of the innate wisdom of the body. He enjoys facilitating the journey to a stronger sense of connection, communication, and balance within--an interest that has informed his approach to massage and bodywork for twenty years.  Brian worked as a LMT at the Osher Center for Integrative Health at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee for many years, where he was involved in an implementation science study of MABT for patients with chronic pain. She teaches trauma informed care and is passionate about the potential for integrative health to support healing for those impacted by pain and trauma.

Selene Kumin Vega is a licensed psychotherapist, workshop leader, and Professor at Saybrook University where she is core faculty in the Mind-Body Medicine graduate program in the College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences. Her work with movement and experiential modalities evolved over 50 years of facilitating self-exploration, connection, and transformation. She has taught at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (Sofia University), Bastyr, and Kripalu Center for Yoga

Selene Kumin Vega is a licensed psychotherapist, workshop leader, and Professor at Saybrook University where she is core faculty in the Mind-Body Medicine graduate program in the College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences. Her work with movement and experiential modalities evolved over 50 years of facilitating self-exploration, connection, and transformation. She has taught at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (Sofia University), Bastyr, and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. She has published chapters on psychospiritual approaches to anxiety and movement practices and articles on ritual and creative consciousness. She co-authored The Sevenfold Journey (Crossing Press, 1993), now in six languages.
Chris Rutgers is an award-winning social entrepreneur who has founded and developed several successful regional and national nonprofit organizations and initiatives focused on supporting underserved populations, including The Trauma Foundation, Outdoor Outreach and Transforming Youth Outdoors. Chris has been nationally recognized as an expert on philanthropy and social impact. He actively works as a consultant supporting several government agencies, foundations, corporations and nonprofit organizations.
